On the 28th of October 7 Lithuanian observers, sent by the Eastern Europe Studies Centre (EESC), were observing the Parliamentary elections in Ukraine. EESC mission will observe the parliamentary elections in Ukraine
From the 25th to the 30th of October 7 Lithuanian observers sent by the Eastern Europe Studies Centre (EESC) will observe the Parliamentary elections in Ukraine, which will take place on the 28th of October. The EESC observers are part of a larger international civil society observation mission containing 50 participants, which is organised by the EESC, Stefan Batory Foundation (Poland) and European Exchange (Germany). The mission operates in Ukraine since September 17.

News from Burma- overview of the last 6 months in Burma
A number of significant events have occurred in Burma since April 2012. First of all, April the 1st by-elections were deemed free and fair by the international community. Aung San Suu Kyi and the National League for Democracy (NLD), which was an unregistered, illegal political party until the last November, won 43 out of 45 seats in the Parliament. After spending most of the last 20 years under house arrest, Aung San Suu Kyi left the country to visit to Europe and received her Nobel Prize from 1991 and an honorary doctorate from Oxford University.
