On 27-29 November, EESC organized Civil Society Conference "Eastern Partnership Reality Check: Political Challenges and Future Agenda for Civil Society“. The Conference agenda, list of speakers and video records of the panels are available here.
The Civil Society Conference was opened by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, welcome addresses were given by Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood, Pat Cox, 21st President of the European Parliament
and Kristina Vaičiūnaitė, EESC Director.
International Conference "Strategies for the Future Policy towards Belarus"
On 28-29 October, EESC and the German-Belarusian Society (dbg) under the patronage of Lithuanian MFA were hosting an international conference on “Strategies for the Future Policy towards Belarus” in Vilnius.
The aim of the event in the run-up to the Eastern Partnership Summit is to develop different options of the future policy towards Belarus by strategic debate with experts, politicians and representatives of civil society and economy from the EU and Belarus.
Call for training “Knowledge exchange between researchers and policy makers: tips for a better conversation”

The EESC together with the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) invites Belarusian researchers to register for a seminar on effective dialog between researchers and policy makers. The training will take place on November 6-7 in Vilnius. The deadline for the registration is the 22nd of October. The project is supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Conference "The Future of Belarus: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe"
On 18 September, EESC together with George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies (GCMC) organized an international conference “The Future of Belarus: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe”. The event was opened by Minister of National Defence of Lithuania Dr. Juozas Olekas and Kristina Vaičiūnaitė, Director of EESC. Minister J. Olekas briefly identified and discussed current situation of Lithuania - Belarus relations and considered prospects for the future. Also the welcome speeches were given by Deputy Director, Department of Eastern Neighbourhood Policy, MFA of Lithuania Darius Vitkauskas and GCMC representative for Lithuania Rūta Būnevičiutė.
