Recomendations “Regional Stability and Modernization: Challenges and Opportunities for EU-Belarus Relations”
On December 1 in Vilnius, and on December 2 in Minsk, EESC together with the German Belarusian Society (dbg) organized  international conference “Regional Stability and Modernization: Challenges and Opportunities for EU-Belarus Relations”. The round-tables attended by experts, politicians and representatives of the civil society from the EU member states and Belarus included following discussion topics: new challenges for Belarus, the evaluation of situation in the light of Ukrainian crisis, and opportunities and future perspectives for EU-Belarus cooperation. Regional Stability and Modernization: Challenges and Opportunities for EU-Belarus Relations
On December 1 in Vilnius, and on December 2 in Minsk, EESC together with the German Belarusian Society (dbg) are hosting an international conference “Regional Stability and Modernization: Challenges and Opportunities for EU-Belarus Relations”. The aim of the conference is to convene a round table with experts, politicians and representatives of the civil society from the EU member states and Belarus, about experiences, challenges, opportunities and future perspectives for EU-Belarus cooperation, in light of the Ukraine/Russia crisis.

New Study "Eastern Partnership in a Changed Security Environment"

On October 12, a new study "Eastern Partnership in a Changed Security Environment: New Incentives for Reform" by EESC experts Laurynas Kasčiūnas, Vilius Ivanauskas, Vytautas Keršanskas and Linas Kojala was presented to the audience at the European Information Office at the Lithuanian Parliament. The event attended by representatives of Vilnius based embassies, diplomats, politicians, journalists and foreign policy experts was moderated by Benediktas Juodka, Chair of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs. The study is access free and can be read in English and Lithuanian.

2nd Ukraine Reality Check
On October 28, EESC in cooperation with the Centre for Eastern Studies (Poland), the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy (Hungary) and the Central European Policy Institute (Slovakia) organized the 2nd Ukraine Reality Check. The meeting was attended by over 60 top Western and Ukrainian analysts, recently elected Ukrainian Rada members, representatives of Kiev based international organizations and diplomatic missions. Thought-provoking discussions have focused on the 4 following topics: situation in Eastern Ukraine and Russia’s interests; the parliamentary elections and internal politics; economic trends of Ukraine; as well as the awaiting path of challenging reforms.

Conference “Empowering Women in Development: Challenges Beyond 2015”
On October 8-10, EESC together with the Lithuanian MFA and in cooperation with the Center for Equality Advancement (Lithuania) and other partners is organizing a conference „Empowering Women in Development: Challenges Beyond 2015“. The Vilnius based conference will concentrate on the issues of women’s role in politics, economics, and global development, the main goal of the event is to strengthen and expand partnerships for the promotion of the gender equality aspect in the post-2015 agenda, and mainstream the gender equality in development both on the theoretical and practical levels. The Conference will be opened by a welcome speech of the Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė and opening remarks of professor Olha Bogomolets who was the only female contender in 2014 Ukrainian presidential election.
