EESC Annual summit

The Eastern Europe Studies Centre launched the tradition to hold an annual summit for the partners, donors and other interested parties. The main goal of the summit is to present yearly results and achievements as well as visions and plans for the upcoming year.

The first meeting was held on the 7th of Novwember ar 16.00 o'clock at the EESC (D. Poskos str. 59). This particular event was a good opportunity to introduce the short-study "Over the Hedge: Comparison of Life in Belarus and Lithuania”, the Belarusian Yearbook 2006 and a study on the Frozen Conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The EESC was founded in 2006 within the PHARE Cross Border Cooperation 2003 programme and has the following goals: firstly, to conduct applied and academic research on the developments in Eastern Europe as well as to monitor the processes in the region, secondly, to promote public awareness by organizing conferences, seminars, round tables and discussions as well as to develop Youth programmes in Belarus, Moldova, Georgia (summer schools, trainings, Belarus Exile Students Rally etc.).
