Young Azerbaijanis having different social, political and professional experience came to Vilnius in May 2009 to get acquainted with Lithuanian political system and youth organizations as well as to share knowledge about internal and external politics of Lithuania, Azerbaijan and European Union.
During the discussion at the Eastern Europe Studies Centre the professors of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science (Vilnius University) Ms. J. Novagrockiene together with Mr. Mindaugas Jurkynas have presented to the participants the Lithuanian political system as well as Lithuanian political situation after the Parliamentary and Presidential elections. Ms. Z. Dambrauskaite, analyst of the Eastern Geopolitics Studies Centre, talked about the Eastern Partnership - the new initiative of the EU.
The participants were particularly interested in ideological attitudes of main Lithuanian political parties, their standpoint concerning the Eastern Partnership and the enlargement of the EU and discussed Eastern Partnership in terms of its goals, instruments and future efficiency.
