EESC's Policy Analysis and Research Division conducts analytic and research projects oriented toward the new neighborhood countries of the EU, including Kaliningrad, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, and the South Caucasus.
 
Projects implemented in year 2007: 

Analitical study about frozen conflicts in Georgia - "Are frozen conflicts warming?"
This project aims to analyse the reasons, development and perspectives of these conflicts from Russian and Georgian point of view in respect with the new status quo after 'color revolutions' in the post-soviet space. 
 
Feasibility study of situation and cooperation opportunities among Lithuania's and Kaliningrad's NGOs. The project will evaluate Lithuania's and Kaliningrad's NGO's cooperation, experience, needs, and opportunities; and make recommendations about how to improve further cooperation and development among the NGOs.
 
Comparative analyses of the socioeconomic conditions in Lithuania and Belarus. This project aims at revealing similarities and differences between the main aspects of public life in Belarus and Lithuania. The product of this project is intended for popular use and will be presented in a simple and entertaining form.
