EESC has a new Acting Director


From the end of August Dovilė Šukytė became the Acting Director of Eastern Europe Study Center. The change occurred due to EESC Director Linas Kojala winning the Fulbright scholarship and leaving to Harvard University, USA.

D. Šukytė works at EESC since 2012. Till now she worked as a Political analyst at the Policy Analysis and Research Division. She is also Chairman of the Board of the Brussels-based Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Her main scholarly interests include the processes of democratization and reforms in EU Eastern partnership countries, Russian foreign policy, transatlantic relations and security issues, especially hybrid threats and information wars. 

Prior to working at EESC, Dovilė Šukytė served as a Research Fellow in Washington, DC based think-tank Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). At which she contributed to new European democracies, including Baltic States, political, economic and social process analysis.

D. Šukytė received her political science bachelor’s degree from Vytautas Magnus University in 2008. And in 2010 she successfully finished International Relations and Diplomacy master studies at Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science.
