EESC announces registration to the United Students of Belarus Rally 2016

EESC invites Belarusian youth studying in Belarus and abroad to apply for the 9th United Students of Belarus (USB) Rally scheduled to take place on June 29- July 1, 2016 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Annually organized USB Rally brings together active Belarussian youth motivated to share ideas and experiences and to contribute to the future of Belarus. In addition to vibrant discussions, workshops and meetings with outstanding state-builders, diplomats, intellectuals and public figures, participants are provided with cultural program and extensive networking opportunities.

The USB Rally initiative currently unites over 300 socially engaged and active Belarussian alumni. The geographical boundaries of the community already extend from the Baltic countries, Belarus and Russia to the Western and Southern Europe, and even the U.S. Throughout its existence, the Rally has become a traditionally anticipated event, attracting enthusiasm from the Belarusian youth. As a result, in 2013, alumni of the USB Rally launched the Global Belarusian Leaders network, which unites a wide range of professionals affiliated with Belarus.

What is the topic of USB Rally 2016?
This year USB Rally will be devoted to fostering intercultural dialogue and defining Belarus’ European identity. Historical memory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and a long-running friendship between Belarus and Lithuania will be used to inspire lively and reciprocal conversations, as well as unique experiences of different Belarusian diasporas, including of those of the USB Rally participants. Activities will also include looking for new ways to increase Belarusian society’s engagement with the outside world, future scenarios and possibilities for further cooperation prospects.
