On February 19-20th Eastern Europe Studies Centre (EESC) organized the second meeting/seminar of Belarusian think tanks representatives. The event was held in the frames of the project “Enhancing Research Centres’ Activities in Belarus”. This project is aimed at analyzing and evaluating the situation of Belarusian think tanks and specific conditions for their analytical work, to foster cooperation between them, including European research centres, and to find ways how to improve think tanks’ work as well as to increase their visibility in European research community. One of the keynotes of the second meeting was to gather Belarusian experts who continue their analytical work abroad. Three guests – Belarusian Ph.D. students in Italy and USA together with the expert on Belarus from France – presented the state of Belarusian studies in the above mentioned countries and together with other participants discussed the issues of visibility of Belarus abroad and the need to enhance it. Students of European Humanities University were invited to the meeting as participants of the panel on Belarusian students in exile. During the second part of the meeting the participants focused on the cooperation between Belarusian think tanks. Such issues as cooperation with journalists, the need of a Belarusian think tanks association were discussed. The new electronic newsletter “Bell”, issued in the frames of the project, was presented to the meeting participants, a framework for the final conference was drawn.
