Livestream of “Russia Today: Political Elite Battles in a Closed System”

On 9 September, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Vilnius time, EESC together with the International Elections Study Center and the news portal DELFI are inviting you to watch the livestream of the expert discussion “Russia Today: Political Elite Battles in a Closed System”. The livestream of the event with simultaneous translation into Lithuanian, English and Russian will be available on the European Information Office of the Seimas website

The discussion will be moderated by the Deputy Chair of Committee on Foreign Affairs of Seimas, Audronius Ažubalis. The guests of the discussion are Russian experts Alexander Kynev and Boris Vishnevskiy, as well as the senior analyst of the EESC, Marius LaurinavičiusAndrius Kubilius, the leader of the Opposition of Seimas will open the discussion and make welcome address.

Alexander Kynev is one of the most renowned and most quoted Russian political scientists, an expert of regional political processes in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as party and electoral systems. Boris Vishnevskiy is a Russian political scientist, a writer and a public figure, a deputy of St. Petersburg Duma, and a member of “Yabloko” party.

In their reports political analysts will analyze the results of the 2013 elections in Russia, will focus on the consequences of 2014 Electoral reform, present the situation that occurred in 2014 elections, as well as Vladimir Putin‘s pyramid of rule and its main actors.
