Linas Kojala has been appointed as the new Director of Eastern Europe studies centre, starting from the July 1st, 2016. He replaces Acting Director dr. Laurynas Kasčiūnas, who will pursue a career in politics, though will stay in EESC as a Senior Analyst for the time being.
“It is a big challenge, but I have a great confidence in our team. Furthermore, L. Kasčiūnas leaves on high note, with EESC being stable and seeking opportunities to expand its activities”,- said Kojala.
Prior to the appointment, Kojala worked as a Policy Analyst in EESC’s Policy Analysis and Research Division for more than three years. He is also a PhD Candidate at International Relations and Political Science Institute, Vilnius university. His areas of research interests include foreign affairs, foreing relations of Russia, U.S., international security and NATO, information security and European integration.
