NATO Public Forum

On 11-12 July, alongside the NATO Summit in Vilnius, the Eastern Europe Studies Centre, together with NATO, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Munich Security Conference and the Atlantic Council, organised the NATO Public Forum.

The event was opened by Carmen Romero, NATO Acting Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, and Linas Kojala, Director of Eastern Europe Studies Centre.

„The leaders of our alliance will be taking very important decisions in Vilnius“, said Carmen Romero, NATO Acting Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy.

On the second day of the event, the NATO Public Forum panellists discussed the importance of cooperation on climate action, harnessing emerging technologies for strategic advantage, our preparedness for hybrid threats and priorities for NATO’s future.

„And as Ukraine works along the pathway towards an invitation for membership, the United States and several other NATO allies and partners are going to step up today […] to provide Ukraine with the security commitments it needs“, Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor, US stated during the NATO Public Forum 2023.
